For years we’ve been learning that cellulite is stored fat, and that it’s mostly found in women because the structure of their skin and fat layers is different than in men. Also, women tend to carry more fat because as mothers, their bodies must prepare to take care of another person. Cellulite has a different appearance than other areas of fat because too much fat in one place pushes on connective tissue, and bulges through the connective tissue in lumpy areas. We all know what the result can look like, but is there anything we can do to avoid it, or even get rid of it?
One of our favorite must-read blogs, Skinny Mom, posted which foods help with cellulite and which don’t in Finally! The Truth About Cellulite! We were amazed at some of the foods we were eating, that we were convinced were helping us – unfortunately, no. Also, we learned that just exercise and diet alone won’t rid us of cellulite, but instead a two-part workout which ENDS with cardio. We actually can’t wait to try it, because our sources say ENDING with cardio means that mostly fat is being burned as cardio fuel, not carbs. WOO HOO! Somebody pass me that cheeseburger.
